Duddon village thanked for their hospitality

Duddon village thanked for their hospitalityDuring recent months Dutton Contractors have been working in and around the roads of Duddon Village installing new 33kVA network reinforcement underground power cables on behalf of SP Energy networks between the substations of Guilden Sutton and Duddon in Cheshire.

In order to avoid disruption on the busy A51 the new cable was routed through back roads where possible leading to road closures and congestion along these narrow routes.

Of particular concern was the potential for disruption to local residents when installing the cable along Willington Road in Duddon village.

Fortunately Duddon Parish Council stepped in and offered the use of the grounds of Duddon and Clotton Hoofield Village Hall as a temporary material storage and vehicle parking area to help ease the congestion.

This offer was much appreciated so as a small measure of thanks for their help, Russel Birch of SP Energy Networks and Richard Wojcik of Dutton Contractors presented a cheque for £500 to David Leadbetter of Duddon Parish Council to assist in much needed repairs to the village hall.
